The Minivan Series

When my son was learning to drive and we logged his hours behind the wheel, I realized how much of what inspires the art I make comes from that vantage point. This led to The Minivan Series, based on things seen and imagined from inside a vehicle associated with motherhood. The shape of the canvases echoes the shape of a windshield. There are numerous vantage points from windows and mirrors. Imagery is based on actual observations juxtaposed with ideas of looking forward, backward, and through, concepts of past and future, known and unknown, where we’ve been and where we’re going.
